Simmons-Bridges-Lain

334 East Lee Street

This Italianate style home was built circa 1869 by A.  Simmons.  Its mansard roof line is unique in Dawson.  The ceilings are equally unique.  They are in an intricate patterned parquet made from tongue and groove beaded boards.  This design lends a special formal touch to the parlor and dining room.

The home has a rich history of ownership; A. Simmons, E. M. A. Lewis, W. R. Baldwin, D. S. Ferguson, Minnie Cocke, Flynn A. and Veta H. Bridges, the Devine and Morrison families, Charles H. Lester, and Jason L. Lain.
