Pascal-Edwards-Rakel

416 Church Street, NE

This Queen Anne Victorian Style home was built circa 1875 for Dr. W. C. Pascal, a veteran of the Civil War.  It was originally constructed in the box house style.  In the 1890s, Dr. Pascal commissioned F. A. Ruggels to transform it into the Victorian style by adding the turret, bay windows, pocket doors and decorative molding.

It remained in the Pascal family until 1936 when Judge Edwards purchased it for his son.  Over the years, it was divided into as many as four apartments.  Gail and Paul Rakel bought the house in 1988 and began their task of making it into a single family home again and restoring it to its original grandeur.
