This Colonial Gothic
style house of worship was built in 1883 using Virginia pine.
The congregation organized as the Methodist Episcopal Church.
Prior to the erection of this building, they worshipped several
miles to the East under a brush arbor.
In 1945, Sunday
school rooms were added to accommodate the growing congregation
and in 1950, a concrete block annex was added. A vestibule was
added to the front of the original building. The original front
doors are still in use, along with the original pulpit and
vestibule table. A section of the original altar is now in the
assembly room.
