This example of Greek Revival
architecture was built in 1890 by Bob Saville. Following the
symmetrical plan of the house, two columns stand inside the
front entrance. The downstairs flooring is oak parquet with
mahogany Greek key inlay. The chandeliers were imported from
Italy. One is very old, having originally hung in an old
Catholic church.
The Giovingos
purchased the home in 1989 and began the lengthy process of
restoring the house to its former beauty. The wiring and
plumbing has been replaced; the interior remodeled and the
kitchen and den expanded. The last project; replacing the
columns, restoring the porch and painting the house, was
completed in 2004.
