First Baptist Church

309 Church Street, NE

The First Baptist Church traces its history back to the year 1840. In that year, Lewis and Judith Clay organized a Sabbath School of the Missionary Baptist faith. It soon grew to become the Friendship Church. After several location changes, the current building was dedicated on the first Sunday in March, 1892.

The sanctuary features beautiful stained-glass windows and a restored interior.
