English-Boyd-Rakel

714 Lee Street, NE

This home dates from the early 1890’s. It originally was a blend of Queen Anne and Greek Revival styles. The wrap around porch and columns were removed in the early 1980’s. The only Queen Anne details visible today are the windows and the gables.

The original heart-pine floors, plaster walls, and twelve-foot ceilings have been preserved. In 1995 Pierre and Susan Rakel added a 500 square foot guest cottage behind the main house.
